• 26th Ward Alderperson Jessie Fuentes is hiring a Director of Zoning and Business Affairs and part-time Constituent Services Coordinator.

• Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a State Epidemiologist (Medical Administrator II - Option C, Opt. 26), Health Facilities Surveillance Nurse, and Department Attorney (Public Service Administrator, Opt.8L).

Workshops

• Lawndale Christian Development Corporation is hosting a Holiday Financial Tips for Future Homeowners workshop on Wednesday, December 10 from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.

• CARPLS and Bright Star Community Outreach are hosting an Expungement Clinic workshop on Friday, December 12 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Bright Star Community Outreach (735 East 44th Street).

Grants

• Five new districts are eligible to apply for the Small Business Improvement Fund (SBIF). The districts are 47th/Halsted, Addison South, Commercial Avenue, Hollywood/Sheridan, and Roosevelt/Cicero Industrial Corridor. SBIF offers $250,000 in grant funds to make permanent building improvements to small businesses.

Internships

• Apply for IHDA’s 2026 Summer Internship Program. The IHDA Internship Program is a full-time, paid, 10-week experience designed to align with your academic background and career goals. Interns gain hands-on experience, participate in a Summer Speaker Series with leaders across the agency, and connect with peers through structured outings and social activities. It’s more than an internship—it’s a chance to contribute to meaningful work that impacts lives statewide. The deadline to apply is Friday, January 30.

• Property Tax Help Forum happening on Saturday, December 6 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Collins High School (1313 S. Sacramento Dr).

• Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) Hiring Event will be held on Wednesday, December 10 at OAI Career Center at Dawson Technical Institute. Registration closes on Friday, December 5.

• Hope Center Foundation and BMO are the Housing Expo 2025 Pathways to Homeownership on Saturday, December 13 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at House of Hope (752 E. 114th St).

• South Side Flu & COVID-19 Community Forum and Vaccinations will be held on Tuesday, December 16 at 839 W. 79th St. Chicago, IL 60620.
