Career Opportunities

  • Illinois Department of Human Rights is seeking a Communications Manager (job #41919) with 3-6 years of experience in communications and media relations. The deadline to apply is Friday, October 18.

 

  • Cook County Assessor's Office is looking for a Taxpayer Information Senior Specialist. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, October 23 at 11:59 PM CST.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Programs

  • Apply to the no-cost Impact Culinary Training for West Side Chicago residents ages 18-24 years old. This is a 12-week program beginning in January to gain hands-on culinary experience in class, followed by a paid internship in a Chicago restaurant, and networking opportunities before and after graduating.

 

Workshops

  • BUILD is hosting a Rap Sheet Workshop on Tuesday, October 22 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at 3510 S. Michigan Ave.

 

  • Chicago Urban League in partnership with Westside Justice Center are hosting an Expungement Workshop on Thursday, October 31. There will be two sessions. Session 1 will be held at 10:00 AM and Session 2 at 12:00 PM. Both sessions will take place on October 31 at 4510 S. Michigan Ave.

  • Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership and E&ES are hosting a Hiring Event on Tuesday, October 29 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Triton College.

  • HOW is hosting a Coat Drive on Thursday, October 24 from 7-10 PM. If you’re unable to attend the event but still want to donate email Gretchen Goetzman ggoetzman@how-inc.org to coordinate a drop-off or pick up.
