Workshops
- Chicago Urban League is hosting a Homebuyer Education Series on Tuesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 25 from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM. Attendees must attend Part 1 and Part 2 to earn a certificate.
- BUILD is hosting a Home Gardening Workshop Series on Saturday, October 4 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM at 5100 W Harrison Street.
Grants
- Apply to the Stephen L. Tadlock Veteran Business Grant presented by Founders First CDC. Eligible applicants must meet these requirements: must be a U.S. military veteran, have an active U.S. based business, business annual revenue does not exceed $5M, have between 2 to 100 employees, and be in business a minimum of 1 year. Recipients will receive a $1,000 grant. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, October 7.
- Apply to the Chicago BridgeBuilders Fund presented by United Way of Metro Chicago. This fund is for small, local organizations on Chicago’s South and West Sides and in the south suburban region. Recipients will receive up to $50k of unrestricted funds over 2 years, capacity-building with DePaul University School of Public Service faculty, and networking with potential funders and fellow cohort members. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, October 8.

- Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership and Illinois State Representative Hoan Huynh are hosting a Fall 2025 Job Fair on Wednesday, September 24 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Harry S. Truman College (1145 W. Wilson Ave).
- Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago is hosting the Westside Housing Fair on Saturday, October 11 from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Benito Juarez Community Academy (1450 W. Cermak Rd).
