Career Opportunities
- Illinois Department of Public Health is hiring a Public Service Administrator (Chicago).
- Lawndale Christian Health Center is hiring a Senior Services Social Worker.
Trainings
- Restore Justice Foundation is offering no cost advocacy trainings: Advocacy 101 and Building Relationships with Legislators.
- Register for the Pre-Venture & Emerging Cohort presented by Women's Business Development Center. This intensive 3-week cohort is designed for pre-venture and emerging entrepreneurs who've completed Road to Success and are ready to dive deeper into the essentials of business growth.
- Apply to the IDEATE x ACTIVATE bootcamp presented by The Gray Matter Experience. This is a tuition-free, 18-week hybrid program that guides teens through the whole entrepreneurial process, from sparking an idea to launching a prototype, while earning a $500 stipend and an Entrepreneurship Certificate.
Grants
- Applications are now open for the Metro Chicago Good Food Purchasing Initiative (GFPI) Community Fund. This is intended for systemically marginalized, local farmers and food businesses who are working on increasing community food access that builds local economies, sustainable practices, fair labor, animal welfare, nutrition, and advances the work of building equity in the Metro Chicago food system. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 8.
- Applications are being accepted for the Austin Eats Culinary Entrepreneurship Grant presented by Austin Coming Together. Grants will range between $8,000 - $10,000. Funds must be used for your culinary business expenses and to cover the costs of participating in Austin Eats activities. Apply by Tuesday, September 30.

- Austin Community Food Co-op is hosting virtual info sessions every Tuesday in September starting September 9 from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
- Illinois Aging Together is hosting Information Sessions on September 24, October 20, and November 20.
- Be the Change Collaborative is hosting monthly Restorative Circles for Educators starting in October.
- Property After Death & Fraud Prevention Forum hosted by Cook County Clerk Monica Gordon, Teamwork Englewood, and 16th Ward Alderman Stephanie D. Coleman will be held on Saturday, September 6 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Red Shield Salvation Army (945 W. 69th Street).
- The 40th Annual Printers Row Lit Fest will take place on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7 from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM each day, on South Dearborn Street, from Ida B. Wells to Polk Street.
- Foundation of Little Village is hosting the La Xquina Pop-Up on Saturday, September 13 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM at El Zócalo Plaza.
- Cook County Preparedness Fair will be held on Tuesday, September 16 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Daley Plaza.
